/ April 4, 2000 Babcock Display Division Inc., the Flat Panel Display manufacturing division of Babcock Inc. has completed its acquisition of the manufacturing equipment, manufacturing and marketing rights of the dc Plasma Display line of Cherry Electrical Products Division of The Cherry Corporation, a manufacturer of displays, switches, keyboards, electronic controls and semiconductors, of Waukegan, Illinois. In announcing the acquisition both companies confirmed that the strategic benefit of the action would enable each Company to intensify and focus on their core technologies and business. The Agreement provides for Babcocks' exclusive supply of displays to Cherry in support of a specific long term contract of Cherry's and additionally entitles Babcock of manufacturing and marketing rights for Cherry's line of dc Plasma displays direct to third party customers worldwide. Babcock Inc. is a privately held three division Corporation which operates from its 135,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in La Mirada, California. Babcocks' manufacturing divisions are structured by product focus in Flat Panel Displays; Power Supplies and Conversions; Relays and switching.
